A wedding is a huge endeavor into the world of fashion and design. Couples must put together the perfect colors which work with all the different parts of the wedding.
Between the wedding dress, tux, bridesmaid dresses and groomsmens’ outfits, there are hundreds of decisions to make and each must work with everything else. It’s not an easy task, which is why most couples hire wedding planners. However, if couples are planning their own styles, it’s still a possibility with some help from fabric stores.
There are two ways to go if you’re planning on an offbeat color, like a red wedding theme. Since you’ll need to pick the perfect shades of dresses, or the colors will clash, visit a fabric store and check out colors together. Be sure to put large swatches of fabrics together and not just small colors. The second option is to check into local design schools and get some of their color books. The first option works best for couples that need a very visual representation of the colors. The second works well for couples who need instruction.
If you haven’t worked with a lot of fabrics and styles, it’s a little more difficult, but still doable. If you’re wary of choosing the styles yourselves, I encourage you to hire a stylist.
