Winter Wedding Flowers

Posted by: Chey on: September 7, 2009

A wedding comes once in a couple’s lives. It’s crucial for it to be as perfect as possible. While it doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect (believe me, it won’t be), detailed planning will bring it to as close to perfection that’s required. One problem that brides and grooms are unaware of is that flowers aren’t always available year round, and some that can be bought out of season can be outrageously expensive.

If you’re planning on red bouquets, you’ll want to mix right reds with the right secondary colors; especially if there is a special theme. The wrong colors send the wrong message. The right colors give the right presentation. For example, white and red roses can look modern or romantic depending on the way they’re arranged in a vase and mixed with baby’s breath or ribbon. Red wedding bouquets mixed with Callas are perfect for a modern theme.

All different kinds of flowers blossom throughout the year, but wintertime is a great time for unique types of wedding flowers. Holly and garland can be used. Poinsettias are a beautiful flower and very rare to see in a wedding decorations. It’s a great idea to talk to florists before planning the color and type of flowers you’ll want. Couples may be surprised about how much certain flowers cost in winter.
