In my last post I mentioned winter favors and how December, January and February offer great opportunities for being creative. The same can be said for the invitations. Wedding invitations are the first look into the theme of the wedding. If the wording is formal the guests will know to dress semi-formal or formal. If the wording is casual, they may still dress semi-formal; however, they’re more likely to dress casually.
The wording is not the only area where the mood is presented. The style of the invitation itself can be a way to convey the theme.
A more modern winter theme should be in solid colors with a very classic streamlined design. A blue background on heavy duty cardboard, with a white layered matte and a top card is perfect for modern themes.
For a classy, elegant wedding, all white, or white and silver, are beautiful. Silver typeface on a stark white or cream colored invitation back is very sophisticated.
Winter invitation colors don’t have to be only blue, silver and white; red is a lovely color as well. Reds are especially beautiful during January and February, and befitting a Valentine theme. Along with red, brown and gold are perfectly matched to the Holidays which all fall during the winter months.
